Rebuild in cut ofF, louisiana

In August 2021, Hurricane Ida caused extensive damage in Cut Off, Louisiana. In January 2022, many people were still without homes. We knew we had to help. Our group headed down to work on one of the clergy’s homes that was in the midst of a rebuild. Our mission was to put up plywood over the entire interior of the house to prepare it for sheet rock application. We succeeded and hope to head down again soon to contribute to other phases of construction in restoring homes in the area.

North Carolina Furniture Drive

We spent the month of June, 2019 collecting furniture from various homes in Bergen County, New Jersey to send to families in North Carolina whose homes were ravaged by Hurricane Florence in 2018. We stored the furniture in Westy Storage in Westwood and then transported it to Grantsboro, North Carolina with the help of Progressive Pipeline Management and Chase Transport of Westwood. We were amazed that we were able to collect more furniture than we ever anticipated. We collected enough furniture for three large truckloads to be shipped. Once there, the truck drivers, volunteers from All Hands and Hearts and members from our group unloaded the furniture from the trucks into a large room in Pamlico Heritage Center where we set up a display.

Families from a list compiled by All Hands and Hearts came to the display room to choose items they desired and we loaded their selections onto vehicles to be transported to their homes. We were able to provide over 50 families in need with furniture for their homes.

We raised money to cover transportation costs through our GoFundMe page and generous support from our community.

Special Thanks
